Duties include, but not limited to, reconciliation of balance sheet items, review of expenses, preparing various monthly schedules, preparing monthly journal entries, and preparing and reviewing monthly financial statements.
*Job Description: *The Senior Accountant will be responsible for providing accounting support to the Accounting Manager.
This person will record daily and monthly transactional activity while adhering to GAAP and Beasley Group accounting policies that includes record preparation, research, and reporting related to, but not limited to, general ledger activities, month-end closing activities, reconciliation of accounts as directed, financial-related reports, schedules, and assignment of special projects by the Divisional Controller.
*Education /Experience:*
* Bachelor’s degree in accounting or comparable area of study.
* 5-7 years’ experience in an office setting preferred.
Sawmill experience preferred
* US GAAP knowledge is required.
* Advanced excel skills, including vlookup and pivot tables a plus.
* Confident working independently and using initiative to guide through challenges.
* Team Player – able to assist members of the team with questions.
* Experience in Quick Books preferred.
*Job Duties to include:*
* Provide financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data, preparing reports.
* Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
* Document financial transactions by providing detailed information.
* Prepare summaries of current financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
* Assist accounts payable staff by providing support and answering questions.
* Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
* Maintain financial security by following internal controls.
* Assist in answering accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations when necessary.
* Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
* Maintain and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
