Infection Control Nurse

Certified Infection Control Nurse: *Job Duties:* * Under the direction of the DON, oversees the infection control program in the facility.
* Provides education to all staff regarding infection control principles and techniques.
* Monitors and collects data on infections and vaccinations.
* Updates policies and procedures as needed with the guidance and direction of the DON.
* Maintains all infection control data and reports as required to outside agencies.
* Sets up clinics and administers vaccines.
* Collect, audit and report infection control data to the QAPI committee.
* Participates with Staff Development in relation to roles, responsibilities, principles and practices of infection control.
* Ability to undertake a variety of diverse care tasks and work in a multidisciplinary team.
* Familiarity with SNF safety, sanitation standards, and procedures * Understanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practices * Excellent knowledge of medical and SNF terminology * Good knowledge of MS Office (or similar technology) and data entry * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Compassionate and able to handle stress.
