Service Assistant - Busser
Job Purpose
Assists the restaurant team by cleaning the kitchen, all kitchen equipment and utensils, restaurant dining areas and outside the restaurant.
PRIMARY ACTIVITIES
Performs kitchen clean-up duties including, but not limited to: washing dishware, utensils, pots, pans, kitchen equipment and appliances, sweep/mop floors, cleans pot sink area, walk-in coolers, freezers and dry-stock areas.
Performs dining room clean-up duties including, but not limited to: clearing dishes from tables, cleaning carpets, sweep/mop floors, clean up spills, clean restrooms, server-line and buffet areas.
Responsible for keeping areas outside the restaurant clean and free from debris
Assists with simple landscape maintenance and changing reader-board daily.
ssists with stocking and re-stocking restaurant’s walk-in coolers, freezers and dry-stock areas throughout work shift.
Assists with food preparation as needed.

Follows established restaurant cleaning procedures and is responsible to maintain sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas.
Breaks down boxes and takes out the garbage following established back-door policies and procedures at all times.
Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
Performs other essential functions as assigned by the manager in charge of the shift.
Education and Experience
Required
Must be at least 18 years of age to operate food prep equipment.
Basic communication skills sufficient to understand and implement instructions.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact positively and professionally with all coworkers at all times.
Ability to organize work and maintain composure during peak operational periods
Preferred
Prior experience in food service and/or preparation
Physical Requirements
Continuously utilizes near vision, color definition, speech, hearing, manual/bi-manual dexterity.
Reaches at, above and below shoulder level frequently.
Uses fine motor skills.
Frequently lifts/carries, pushes and pulls up to 30 lbs, stands and walks.
Occasionally bends and twists at waist, stoops, squats, kneels, and lifts/carries, climbs ladders or step stools, pushes/pulls up to 50 lbs.
Work Conditions and Hours
Normal commercial kitchen/restaurant working conditions.
Frequently exposed to extreme heat while utilizing cooking equipment, sharp utensils and works closely with others; occasionally exposed to extreme cold, wet/humidity, noise/vibration, fumes, odors, dust, mist, cleaning chemicals.
Occasionally works outside.
Hours vary according to assigned shift, including weekends and/or holidays, opening or closing shifts.
